ROSIEGLO

THE PROJECT

With a goal to be more visible locally and a desire for written content that reflected the changes of the studio, I worked with RosieGlo to create an SEO content strategy, based on local keywords and terms. In addition to this, we have worked to refine and maintain the tone of voice that Rosie has crafted over the years, tweaking and amending throughout.

The content features blog for the website, offering advice and insight to those who are new to yoga, and looking for a safe and friendly space to try it, as well as on page content with useful information for yogis both seasoned and new.

An ongoing partnership, focused on helping others and sharing yoga with the community.

THE WORK

Here is a sample of the writing…

While the world may be slowly returning to ‘normal’, it is perfectly okay for you to take things at your own pace. From meeting friends to office working, planning trips, and even going back to in-person yoga classes, it is important to move to the new normal in your own time. This year has been tough and strange and has made us feel all the feels, so be gentle with yourself as things start to change again. If you are planning on taking a slower road back, or are keen to nurture your own yoga practice, here are some tips for creating an at-home yoga space.

Firstly, it is absolutely okay if your space is in the middle of the kitchen, in the corner of the living room, or perhaps even by the side of your bed. We see these extravagant yoga spaces on the internet that look like the biggest and zen-est in the land, but that isn’t what yoga is about. You can create a space that feels like yours in the tiniest square or the thinnest strip of floor space!

Our first tip for this is to make a little ritual. While we know this isn’t always possible and trust us when we say we snatch a ten-minute flow or meditation where we can but, by putting together a ritual, you let your body know that it is time for a rest or a stretch. This could include something as simple as rolling out your yoga mat, making a cup of tea or coffee, or perhaps turning on a lamp in the corner of the room. It doesn’t have to be big, just enough to feel like something.

We are fans of a candle round here; whether it be a tea light or a chunky scented one, there is something about a candle that really sets the scene for yoga. If you’re worried about knocking it over, we have had some near misses, or you have small hands around, there are battery-operated ones that flicker just as nicely as a real-life flame. Again, not a necessity but something to get you in the mood for relaxation.

Next on our little tip list is getting rid of distractions. Life can be busy, but if you can, pop your phone on do-not-disturb, turn off the TV, the radio, and let yourself feel into the flow. You can pop a timer on if you feel like you are going to get a little too absorbed in things, but minimising distractions really helps you get into the practice.

Lastly is setting an agenda. It can be so easy to think you will come to it later, but often, later turns into tomorrow, and before you know it, it has been a week, and your mat is gathering dust! Make yourself a timetable, as if you were booking on to in-person classes. It might help to book on to live-streamed classes to give yourself that accountability to practice and set that time aside for yourself.

Remember, it isn’t about designer yoga gear and green smoothies; it is about creating time and space for yourself and getting onto your mat. If you’re looking for live-streamed yoga classes in Cheltenham, our classes aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, and even when in-person classes start running again, we will be here on Zoom for you too.
