Energy is everywhere.
In every moment, interaction, conversation.
It’s in the decisions that were made and the things that were left unsaid, it makes up everything we experience.
Your brand is no exception to that.
In every corner of the brand, every creative direction, strategic decision, is made up of energy. That energy gets stored, energy from the team, the stakeholders, the shareholders, it builds up, and it sits. Some of that energy propels a brand forward, the magic and the wonder. Some of that energy draws down, distracts from the focus, the goals, the big picture, and that’s the energy we want to shift.
Energy is everything, everywhere, everyplace.
It is stored in everything from the website copy and the product descriptions to the visuals, the spreadsheets, the office, and every space in between.
That’s a lot of energy.
This is how we see it, feel it, and shift the energy that no longer serves the brand.
See it
Recognising the energy in your brand is the first step. Tune into the energy of your brand either with a grounding meditation, or a few rounds of deep square breathing.
Allow your body to relax and for your mind to embody the brand. How does it feel, how is it showing up, how is it being influenced. Write down how the brand currently feels, write freely, or type freely, and let it flow out.
Identify the types of energy that are present.
Grounded, rooted, chaotic, confused, pushy, magnetic, vibrant, stagnant.
What is coming up?
Feel it
Note down the energies that are present, and see where they are felt within the brand.
Where are these energies stuck and where do they need to be released from?
It doesn’t matter where they came from or how they arrived. They’re likely from different sources and built up over time, you don’t need to spend time on this. Focus on the feel, then the shift.
Shift it
You can see them, you can feel them, now it’s time to shift the energy.
We want to release any blocks and any stagnation, so there are a few ways of doing this.
Breathwork
We can work with a breathwork for clearing, which will help to expel the trapped energies. The breath is powerful, and it unlocks energy in ways that is so profound and so magical.
Journaling
Write on releasing. Use journal prompts, either written or out loud, and work out where those shifts can come. It might be big changes, it might be tiny tweaks, but working with words and emotions are powerful ways to let it go and make space for the new.
Movement
We can physically move. Choose a playlist (Effable has some elemental ones here), and get moving. Close your eyes, let the energy take hold, and physically move it through your bodies. Just because this is the energy of your brand, doesn’t mean it can shift it for itself. It needs your human embodiment to get it unstuck, and you will be steering the ship and guiding it home.
These activities don’t have to be done solo. Get the team involved, and get the collective energy flowing. Two heads are often better than one, so feeling into these energies can be so powerful when you come together to work with them.
The energy of your brand is everything. It’s transmuted to your clients, customers, and anyone who interacts with the brand. It’s how they experience it, how they feel it, and what lingers when that meet cute is over. It’s how you find them, how you love them, and how you leave them, all rolled into one.
Getting to know your brand on a deeper level makes this a whole lot easier. It makes it easy to see where the energy is stuck, leaking, or less than what you want the brand to show up with.
